Inclement weather/air quality

All:

The league inclement weather policy applies to this weekend’s air quality issues. The league executive board is not generally empowered to tell teams whether to have meets.

if teams or swimmers cancel due to air quality issues, the inclement weather policy will apply - all swimmers entered at the deadline will receive  credit for attending the meet for divisional qualifying.

contact me regarding eligibility issues around this policy. Thanks.

In all cases, teams should seek agreement on how to handle inclement weather. Safety and the judgement of your facility staff always take precedent.

However, if there's not consensus, then per the league bylaws:

Before the meet begins, the home team league rep has the final call on proceeding with the meet;

Once the meet begins, the meet referee has the final call.

In all cases, it's expected that the decisionmaker is conferring with the leadership of both teams on what is desirable and prudent.

Postponement: A postponed or suspended meet must be made up before the following Saturday's meet.

If a meet is cancelled entirely, it counts as one of the two required "attended" meets for divisional qualifying purposes for all athletes entered in the meet; it does not count those entered events as legal swims for divisional event qualifying..

If a meet is canceled midway, then all swims recorded to that point are official times for divisional qualifying purposes, and all entered athletes are counted as "attending."
